Tiě Guān Yīn "Iron Goddess" also referred to as Ti Kuan (Kwan) Yin or YinYun in Chinese is a high-mountain oolong tea set apart by its flowery fragrance reminiscent of orchids. Cultivated from Fujian Province, China, this Tieguanyin is a premium variety, harvested by hand from high altitude tea orchards and the oolong tea of choice among the Chinese. It has a subtle but distinctive flavor, a pale golden color, and a light floral fragrance. The tightly rolled leaves unfurl into full large broad green leaves that can be steeped several times. Oolong teas can be an acquired taste if one is used to black teas with milk, however this one is well worth the time, and highly recommended.
